My Hood

Some photos from my neighborhood, Vinohrady, on a kind of grey day. . .

Machova is my street

where I get my daily produce (the fruits and vegetables often still have dirt on them and go bad in a day or two . . . I take this as a good sign; I can trust my potraviny for freshness and no preservatives)

these next few are from the park by me, Havlickovy Sady

in the park is this vineyard. vinohrady, the name of the district was originally all vineyards (like 200 years ago), and the word vinohrady itself means vineyard. I'm going back to that pavilion tonight for some Burcak, which is a Czech specialty: a young wine, only available in early fall, that supposedly has an apple cider taste.

these are from my messy pad.

Reed! my roomate
